Project Overview

Westaim Construction was engaged as the general contractor for the Prairie Winds Pharmacy & Compounding medical tenant improvement in Northeast Calgary. The project transformed the commercial space into a functional pharmacy and compounding environment through a complete interior build-out, including structural framing, mechanical and electrical coordination, plumbing, millwork, flooring, and architectural finishes. Westaim managed the project from procurement through construction, coordinating with the City of Calgary and project stakeholders to ensure the work progressed efficiently and in accordance with applicable requirements.

The Challenge

Medical and pharmacy tenant improvements require precise coordination between multiple trades, building systems, regulatory requirements, and operational needs. The project required the conversion of an existing commercial space into a specialized pharmacy environment within a defined 60-day schedule. Coordinating electrical, plumbing, framing, millwork, finishes, procurement, and municipal requirements required disciplined scheduling and close site supervision to maintain construction progress and quality.
